'Vanasthalipuram' is very busy commercial and residential hub in Hyderabad belongs to L. B. Nagar zone. It is located towards (Vijayawada) and Nagarjuna Sagar highway roads. It is a commercial and residential area with a peaceful atmosphere and abundant greenery. It is now the hub of commercial activity with a rapidly expanding commercial business, transforming the colony into a town-like atmosphere. Saheb Nagar, Hill Colony,Gateway colony, Sachivalayanagar, NGO's Colony, Vaidehinagar, BN Reddy Colony, Prashanthnagar, Anithanagar, High Court Colony and some sister colonies which are called as 16 east colonies etc. are some of the famous colonies in Vanasthalipuram. Vanasthalipuram has rich infrastructure, good access to all kinds of basic requirement providers and well connected. It is also one of the peaceful and second largest colonies in Hyderabad.
During the rule of the Nizam of Hyderabad, the area was a dense forest with wild animals and famous as a hunting ground or shikarghar(hunting ground in Urdu) of the Nizams. Hence the name Vanasthalipuram (Vana="forest"+sthali="place"+puram-a Telugu postfix for a locality or site). Due to its serene surroundings and real estate cost, the place has become one of the preferred residential areas for people working in the city. In spite of being an integral part of Hyderabad, it provides an alternative to the hustles of a city, with a peaceful environment.
Vanasthalipuram till late 80's have been an untouched locality to the residents of Hyderabad, but the Government projects for allotment of Houses through Public auction and Houses to the Non-Gazetted officers of the Government department at a very competitive rate have all of a sudden created 10s of thousand living community in this area, thus laying the foundation of Today's Vanasthalipuram. Many top IT employer buses, like Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra Satyam, Convergys, IBM, CapGemini, Keane, Google etc. come to pick the employees from this area and many top Engg. College buses also pick up their students from here.
